Unified communications specialist Nice Network has been acquired by Onecom, the UK’s largest independent business telecommunications provider.
Nice Network, founded in 1986 by managing director Chris Lee, is an independent supplier of unified communications to scores of organisations across the UK, from blue-chip corporates through to national charitable bodies and SMEs.
The acquisition, Onecom’s second of 2020, is part of the firm’s ambitious three-year expansion strategy, that will see the company continue to improve its offering to clients by bringing together some of the industry’s biggest names under one banner.
It also further strengthens Onecom’s presence in the North East and creates significant opportunities to scale its business in the region through market-leading mobile, cloud-based hosted voice, connectivity and cyber security services.
Chris Lee, Managing Director at Nice Network, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to further scale our operations in the North East with the support of a large, national, PE-backed strategic partner.
“Over the last three decades, we have established a strong track record for technical expertise and customer service, which has enabled us to build a considerable customer base and will lead to us becoming an important part of Onecom’s operations as we look to the future.”
Christian Craggs, director of strategy and M&A at Onecom, added: “The telecommunications sector is playing a crucial role in supporting the operational resilience of businesses across the UK and will continue to do so as we look ahead to the next three years.
“We are pleased to welcome Nice Network to the Onecom Group. Chris Lee and his team have achieved an outstanding reputation as a regional leader in the North East and we are looking forward to working with them as part of Onecom.”
