A new study led by Nice Network has analysed thousands of reviews from UK consumers to identify the nation’s most highly rated smart watches.
The study reviewed over 10,000 customer reviews from UK customers on Amazon, with the Apple Watch SE finishing in top spot.
The watch, which retails at £269, offers built-in cellular connectivity and boasts all of the usual health perks, such as heart monitoring – including high and low heart rate and irregular heart rhythm notifications – workout activity tracking and a swim-proof design.
Finishing second, ahead of industry titans such as Samsung, Huawei and Nokia, was American GPS giant Garmin’s Fenix 6X Pro, with 90% of its 2,082 reviews being rated five-star and customers hailing its ‘amazing battery longevity’ and its ability to compliment ‘the most intense of workouts.’
Global sales of wearables soared during the pandemic, with sales rising by 18% to £50.5billion as businesses and consumers the world-over switched on to the many health and social benefits of the technology – according to the latest research by Gartner – and sales are predicted to continue rising throughout 2021, reaching £68 billion by the end of the year.
Speaking about the research, Nikki Lee, head of marketing at Nice Network, said: “Over the last few years we’ve seen a radical change in not only buying patterns but also the way people perceive wearable technology, especially during the pandemic.
“As people the world-over were left feeling isolated and separated from their friends and loved ones, connected devices such as smart watches helped not only maintain social relationships, but also maintain and improve our physical and mental health, and this is echoed by the research below.
“For example, seven of the top 10 most highly rated smart watches listed heart monitoring among their key selling points, as well as health benefits such as sleep monitoring, workout compatibility and blood level monitoring.
“Whether it’s reducing screen time, improving your physical or mental health or helping improve safety in the workplace, wearables can significantly improve quality of life and it’s no surprise that the adoption of wearable devices is growing at such pace among businesses and consumers alike.”
